ROLLEIFLEX

Rollei has been making luxurious film cameras since 1920, appealing to high class consumers. They were popular during the early 20th century era of film cameras and are most known for their flagship Rolleiflex line of medium format TLRs. This piece showcases the elegance of Rollei as a brand and displays a modern advertisement for an era of cameras long gone. This piece was in collaboration with close friend and artist Kendall Dirks. Collaboration was done on the shot sequencing, storyboard and concept. I modeled each mechanical piece of the Rolleiflex to spec with a 3D scan and a pair of calipers while referencing a real world camera. Kendall handled all texturing, scene assembly, rendering, lighting and animation. In post, we were both responsible for compositing shots in NukeX and assembling the final video in After Effects.
